There was some talk about wills recently. Just done a new one for the UK which doesn't cover property in Egypt. Does anyone know of a good, reliable lawyer in Hurghada who does wills? Would hate to leave my to children sort this out if I have an earlier than expected demise!! I do however plan to live another 30 years or so, still........

We're staying at the Movenpick Resort and Spa in El Gouna this time. I chose Movenpick as we stayed in their Luxor hotel a couple of years ago and it was very, very nice. It's purely by chance that I picked the El Gouna one, as it was a 'toss up' between this one and their hotel in Taba. Must have been fate as we hadn't even considered purchasing in Egypt when I booked the holiday last year and it is fairly close to the development I believe. Last time we stayed at the Grand Resort Hotel in Hurghada, another lovely hotel in a good location, the only thing that would have made it perfect was if only it was on the other side of the road then it would have been on the beach. I keep looking for next year, but for some reason the major tour ops. only seem to be selling holidays in Sharm el Sheikh at the moment. Mind you, I have found flights on Flightline that I'm tempted with, 17th July, 2009 for two weeks £1,352 for 4 tickets (2 adults, 2 teenagers). If I decide to book these flights, I'll be advertising on here for an apartment to rent, which may be a good option for you?

hi - when we made a will a year ago - the solicitor asked if we had any property abroad for the inheritance - then, we said no, as that was the case. However, now we will have to update them.

Leila - wouldn't your British solicitors add this Egyptian property to the will ? - just curious.

no probleme, yes it is a 2 bedrooms 73m2, for me it is not the right time to go, i also bought a property in Fez(moroco) and it will be ready at the end of this month(hopefully) i need to go there and start the furniture expedition, i don't have a clue about buying things in moroco at least in this forum i had tips and advise from all of you, about buying from egypt. you know it is not easy when you have kids, and i am a kind of person, who doesn't want leave the kids behind me they have to be always with me, my partner try to convince me to go and prepare everything beforehead and then bring over the kids, but still not convinced.

That's great thanks You lucky thing buying a property in Morocco too, another place I've always planned to go, I imagine it to be very similar to Tunisia? Do you check out the Morocco forum on Totally Property? There should be people on their that can help you out, the same as here. It certainly is easier to get business done quicker without kids, but if you're not happy to leave them and wish to keep them involved then that's ok too. I'm sure they can help you carrying all your purchases

oh yes i checked, but it seems dead, no many people are there, not that much chatting about their project, i left message and also shared picture of the project, only one person responded, he was going to buy app at the same project but he withdraw at the last mn and he regreted, but i am always cheking if there is any news. i would like to get my kids involved in organising the place, i want them to learn how life it is, they seem to take everything for granted, uk life is such easy life for them, we parent work hard and they only bother about the last palystation and game boy, the last time we went to algeria, they have seen kids begging on the street, they were shocked, but i draw their attention, that some kids can't find food to it....sad,.
by the way i have heard people saying that morocco is such beautiful country no comparison with tunisia, some places is like aladin deam land, lests see, i keep you informed.
