Hi all i am looking for any advice at all please,i am looking at buying property in the southern part of france to use as a holiday home and also to rent as an investment for the future the area im looking at is somewhere good for summer and not too far from the slopes in winter,is there anybody out there who does this and any advice like is it a good investment the costs etc,im visting and spending a week near carcassonne in may and will look into the whole area then but in the meantime any help would be much appreciated as i would rather invest my money in somewhere where i can go myself to stay and get away from it all than the uk which is a complete joke.

You need to look at an area which will have year round visitors so that you can get maximum rental opportunities and somewhere with good capital appreciation so that you earn maximum return on your investment.
The French Riviera is therefore an excellent choice with fabulous weather, huge numbers of tourists all year round (busiest airport outside Paris is Nice airport), very high capital appreciation, and of course for personal pleasure the location is - in my opinion - second to none. You can be on the beach in the morning and on the slopes at Isola or Auron by the afternoon!
