Safaga is also known as Bur Safaga, or Port Safaga. It is a town about 65 km south of Hurghada. It is regarded as Egypt’s phosphate export center because it has a lot of phosphate mines.
Considered as Egypt’s main port, Safaga has a cruise shuttle service line connecting its marine port to Saudi Arabia and Jordan. A majority of yachts going into Egypt clear at Port Safaga. It is also the best place to leave a yacht, if the owner wishes explore Egypt a little more. |
