The country covers an area of some 500,000 square kilometres offering one of the most diverse of climates and landscapes. Transferred under the power of French Indochina and back under Thailand again, Trat has suffered several attempted attacks in order to seize it back again. Trat has become one important location both historically, culturally, and economically for the country because of its excellent strategic location in the area. Merchants have used the island to gain access into the rest of the country in order to sell their wares, Thus, Trat has gained significance in its status as a province in Thailand. Geography of TratThe location of the province of Trat has always been one that has served the province well, although these advantages were also wanted by other countries as well. The southernmost part of Thailand’s border into another country, the Cardamom mountain range serves as the defining point for Thailand to have a boundary with Cambodia in the Trat area. Trat faces three Cambodian provinces adjacent to it, and not only is the mainland portion part of the province, but Ko Chang, the second largest island in the country is also included under its jurisdiction. Aside from this, the small islands in the surrounding areas which make up the Mu Ko Chang Marine Park, a wildlife reserve that is in line with other similar areas in Thailand. Seven districts make up the whole province, and it’s located more than three hundred kilometers from Bangkok. |

The province of Phuket, Thailand, has lots to offer its visitors, with culturally and historically rich cities that teem with the vibrant atmosphere of a city that successfully merges the past and the present, along with its dynamic culture. Thalang, originally the center and capital of the province, has the same things to offer to people coming into the city, and since it’s now classified as a district of Phuket, it’s still a nice place to stay in. It’s a unique place and as such, there’s a lot to discover when you get to know Thalang. Geography and ClimateThalang occupies around half of its island, and there are boundaries to Kathu and Mueang Phuket on its southern side. To the north, beyond the Pak Prah Strait, the Phang Nga province awaits. There are hilly areas in the district of Thalang, and part of it is designated as a protected zone, around twenty square kilometers of rainforest. As for the district itself, it is divided into sub districts, having their own administrative governments. The district with the highest number of inhabitants would be Thep Krasatti, located at the very center, with around nineteen thousand inhabitants. The weather patterns here are much like the rest of Thailand, that is, tropical. Monsoons arrive from time to time in this city. |

A small town located near the mouth of the Krabi River, Krabi is a small, laid back town where one can spend a nice time connecting with the history and culture of the country from long ago up to the present. Krabi is also considered as the capital for the province of the same name. There are lots of theories regarding the background of this town, and though they all differ, what they do agree upon is that inhabitants of this area come from times long gone, leaving evidences of their existence and daily life behind. Location and GeographyThere are plenty of mountains surrounding the area of the town of Krabi. Level highlands are a common feature of the topography, and so are plains in which most people put up their houses in. The province itself handles over one hundred thirty islands and islets, located in the Andaman Sea of Thailand. The forested areas of the island are chiefly mangrove trees, mixed with cassia trees. The forest is also home to the natural resources of the locals available for export, which are mainly rubber products and coconuts, being the main agricultural output such a case that almost all other island provinces in Thailand possess. On the technical side, there are eight sub districts that divide Krabi into portions, and together, the province encompasses four thousand seven hundred square kilometers of land area. The total number of residents in this province numbers at more than four hundred thousand people. |
