Default SO excited to move to Delhi

Hello all,
Have an opportunity to move to Delhi for a for several years. I am SO excited and will be visiting in a couple of weeks from January 20 through February 6 2007.

I'll be spending a lot of time in the office and I want to make to most of my limited free time to see things that will give me a view of what life will be like if/when I make the move, like neighborhoods and markets etc. as well as seeing a some of the tourist attractions. Any advice on what I should not miss and what I shouldn't waste time on this first trip?

I have a six-year-old daughter who won't be traveling with me this trip. I do have a visit to the American School planned already.

I am a single mother and I am curious what kind of issues that might rise. Should anticipate any problems? I might have a house there as a second house as India is the potential developing market in IT and it could be a good investment for me.
Regards
Sunita

Hi Sunita,
It's great that you have a chance for a familiarization visit. Personally, I wouldn't do the tourist sites - you'll have several years to do them later. I'd advise you to get out and about to see the markets and what is and isn't available so you'll know what to bring. You might also want to visit an expert?s home so you can see the general way of life - servants etc.
Thanks
Mohan
