Rebecca

Depends on whether you wish to let short or long term and whether it is just a holiday let or home.

In my case, I will be letting out the apartment as a long term let and therefore wont be furnishing it. Usually tenants buy their own furniture.

Hope that helps.

Raz

hi
Thanks for the responces, I have heard about the delays.
We were hoping to get over there at the end of this month but have now delayed this as I want to inspect the properties once they are complete.
Do you know any good rental agencies over there?
I am thinking of letting them out long term so unfurnished does seem to be the best option.
What sort of income do you think I should make from each apartment unfurnished on a long let basis?
Rebecca

Default Courier Company

Dear fellows,

Want to send my contract back to nakheel for registration. Fedex and DHL are charging approx GBP approx 63.00 (without insurance)
I suppose with GBP1000 insurance, charges would be approx one hundred pounds sterling or may be more. Any suggestion/recomendation regarding inexpensive courier company would be highly appreciated.

I was quoted over £100 to return my contract to Dubai. I sent it by good old Royal Mail instead for about £4 and it arrived in Dubai 3 days later.

Default Contracts - Nakheel

I sent my contracts by Royal Mail service 'International Signed For' for £21 with £500 compensation. It took a month to arrive and Royal Mail were useless when I contacted them to see if it had got lost in transit. Although it got there eventually I was worrying that they'd lost it and didn't want to pay 5000AED charge. Not sure how you could send it for £4, the weight alone would cost more than that to send.

Are Nakheel also involved in the construction/handovers of the apartment units in the CBD buildings also??

I understand the CBD buildings are being constructed, sold and handed over by private developers. and Service charges for these are also much lower and specified in the sales contracts.

Any comments??

Red face Forbidden City looks like Tiananmen Square or The Gobi Desert

Guess you can never believe what is written in Dubai however does any one have any up to date Information on when the Forbidden City will be started let alone completed?

A drive to the site will show you that it looks more like the Gobi Desert or Tiananmen Square rather than the hyped up version full of shops and malls that was much hyped by Nahkeel as well as all the Sales Agents.
