This is another sticking point with me. Why should owners or those of us who have paid up front 100% all fees now be further penalised with the excuse from the building owner " all fees have to be paid by every body before handover"

All the time the building owners have had money up front funding their projects with associated delays and no compensation to owners at all. Infact by being honest and making payments up front we have been penalised and the Building Owners continue to make money.

dianne, mine is N2, it's poss that not everyone has paid their charges so they could be waiting for everyone to pay up before releasing to owners.

wayneis, i think logistically it would be sensible to allow possession of one building at a time. Imagine, the expense of maintaining a block with just 1 or 2 families. But i also agree with you that they should not deny possession to someone who has already paid.

laguna33p I have no issue with that however if that is the building owners intentions then they should be made clear and late payers penalized with early on time payment rewarded.

Instead we seem to be paying homage to the lowest denominator ....

The problem we all have is that there is no transparency and no accountability and last of all no independent auditing.

This will not take place until such time that there are enough residents residing in the International City for nakheel to sit up and take notice. This is what happened with other projects in Dubai such as The Springs or Marina Project.

I was listening to The Australian CEO of Nakheel being interviewed on the Dubai Radio program business breakfast Dubai Eye 103.8 this morning about the Palm and he was addressing the question that lots of complaints had filed into Nakheel about the project "Juimerah Islands" because of shoddy workmanship, no communication, late delivery , etc and his response was that they had learned from this and were treating customers differently now. These were teething problems....

Well after I had spilled my tea on the floor and wiped up the mess I wish I had been given the opportunity to voice directly my complaints to the CEO of nakheel over the International City and what was one of Nakheels first projects because what we have here is major Root Canal work required forget about teething problems....

I am going to make another cup of tea

Sorry have to edit this and add the following...The Charges are trumped up Charges laguna33p designed to Maxamise Nakheels Profit . Firstly they have taken the stand that Fees must be paid 12 months in advance not quarterly which is the norm in Australia. I understand that Nakheel are proberly going to follow the Australian Body Corp management guidelines for Apartments and adapt them as necessary having sent a team down to Australia last year to investigate this. Sorry Nakheel and the Building Owners just got greedy. Nakheel do not have any concern for apartment owners, just try ringing them, they will only deal Building Owners and then The Building Owner keeps giving you the run around!...Im getting dizzy

Has anyone else bought in N1? If so, have you got your keys yet?

Default Power of Attorney

Hi

Has anyone managed to get an agent in the UAE to represent them for the handover?? I have a unit in Persia and handover should be soon. I am in the UK and need to organise the agents in UAE to do the handover for me. Does anyone know the costs involved and the paperwork required?

Thank you
