I am keen to talk to you anyone find to find out or discuss problems that may be round your corner out if that Homes Dubai/International outfit have treated you with the same contempt I have'nt enjoyed from them. I bought an apartment in IC 19 Morocco in August 2005 (now paid in ful for 13 months), along with nearly 2,500 eurs for the service agreement. However they have now told me now that this is a large studio not a one bed that I booked and paid that rate and should be happy with that as it is nearly the same size, oh and no en-suite oh and smaller windows oh and dont expect to rent it for the same amount etc etc etc etc. You can imagine my response. I have contacted the building owners who are surprisingly helpful.
If this sounds familar to any one let me know. Or if anyone wants to swap their one bedroom apt for "a large studio" let me know. HomesDubai would probably make this comment as a serious question !!!!

Thumbs up why they chose International City?

It is always like this in life that if you know the reason and what really is happening, you can predict future better. Isn't it? Well as others have written Nakheel, the most reliable! developer in Dubai, chose this extra cheap lot to build a city special for expatriates. Why? since expatriates come from different countries, don't know each other to form a group, don't stay in Dubai for a long period of time normally, and they are afraid of protesting and putting their names somewhere to claim and lose their Visa. As simple as that! any of us who gets a chance, runs away from this stinky place and do not care about others. There is not even any management for every building or even a get together for the residents of each building to get to know each other and discus about the issues. Why? Isn't it a very detailed policy to keep here alive for Nakheel? And after selling out the whole apartments, Nakheel will just run away and leaves IC owners with its problems. So many lies about moving out the sewage plant or changing it! These lies are along with the work on the green area of IC are just for selling the new apartments and nothing else. You have heard that Nakheel is launching its new building right in front of the sewage plant? and the prices are still the same as Jumairah Village!!! Funny? yeah? Why? Since Nakheel does not want to admit the rumors against IC and that it stinks. Imagine you come to purchase an apartment in IC and visit the place during the day and early evening and see what? you just see the parking lots are so full and people are actually living here. Then you think the ones who talk about the smelly nights simply exaggerate! You go and you purchase the nice apartment in IC happily!
I am living in IC and it really stinks. Not every night, though. However, every night that it stinks makes my life so miserable . Breathing is really difficult and I pray for the smell to be finished. Last night was bad and smelly and it continued even in the morning. Tonight is unbearable. What am I going to do? Leave this ****ty country, which is full of lies, to its people who deserve and come back to my home country as soon as I am done here. God bless you!

Dubai smells
Dubai is dirty (too much construction).
The traffic is enormous
The prices are ridicules
The taxes (yes taxes - for visas, opening business, rents, road charges, fines, airlines) are well above the normal imagination.

Sounds bad, but all of us or most of us are still in Dubai – why?
Because we are machines and the machine needs oil and UAE has oil.

So don’t complain about the smelling and keep on working 10 hours a day 7 days a week

Hi All,

Now its not just the smell. Many residents would agree with me, its the trucks that come to dump this $@*t. I think they queue up for hrs together to wait for their turn to dump and I dont know, for some odd reasons they start honking. I know its a bit far from IC and sound doesn't carry as much as smell, but at times it can be very annoying. There are so many nights, we are woken up by these crazy truck drivers honking to glory. Its at times at 12 midnight or even at 3 in the morning.

I would be quite glad to bring this up to the concerned authorities, if only someone can tell me where or whom to complain this to.

Hi Guys,

Firstly let me thank you'll for starting this thread and highlighting the unsaid / unspoken problems of IC..
I would require your views on purchasing a flat at the CBD area of intl' city.. I am plannin to buy at the " royal residence " or " lady ratan manor" bldgs at CBD..
Can anyone tell me on the smell situation there ??? Would appreciate your views as this will enable me to decide on whether I should buy a flat here or look at other options???
