Been in Dubai close to 8 years
What you need to know about prices in Dubai is that what is being asked for on paper is very different from what is actually being paid.

Greece still not finished.
Whole project in International City I would say 2 years at least.
Who knows when the Forbidden City or it really should be The Hidden City be completed if it will actually be completed....... May be Nakheel will sell off the plot for CBD Buildings who knows?? Nakheel The Master Developer promoted 4 years ago that on completion International City would have the Forbidden City Replica.

They may as well been promoting free trips to the moon and back as nothing but piles of dirt and rubbish where the Forbidden City was planned.

Prices rising steadily seems to be around 330K for a studio and 450K to 480K for 1 bedroom. Said this before has yet to be a development or large project built in Dubai that has not increased by a substantial amount after completion.

It will be at least 2 years before International City is completed based what has happened to date.

Nakheel dropped the ball on this one big time.

Hi wayneis,

so how do you like dubai? 8 years, if you dont mind me asking what do you do, what is life like in dubai expensive? What do you mean prices are different on paper do you mean you get more than what you ask or less? Did you rent out furnished apt or unfurnished?

Dubai is what you make of it, you can do most if not more than what you can do else where. With the decrease of the US dollar against most currencies, property in Dubai is even more attractive to overseas investors. Those of us paid in US Dollars/ Dirhams are really noticing the increased cost of living here. hard to work out what the real inflation rate is as the Government of Dubai insist that it is in single figures however Bank Sources regularly state it is in double figures

Simple, every one is open to negotiating. Prices asked in newspapers and magazines are not set in concrete. Economics supply and demand..... If your browsing the net or newspapers you will be able to negotiate a lower price than what is advertised with prices dipping in the warmer months this also includes rental properties.

Rented apartment partly furnished with a fridge and stove and curtains was able to get a tenant straight away. Word is getting out that International City is the cheapest place to rent in Dubai.

It would cost you around 2000 AED to put a stove, fridge and curtains in other wise you could rent it with none of the above however with so many on the market and so many to chose from......
