I would really appreciate anyone's help, I have two apartments due to be finished in a matter of weeks and I would like to know what are people doing to check the build quality or for any other issues that might need attention.

Can this be done prior to or at the point of the apartments being handed over.

Can anyone help with the following questions?

1. Is anyone using a surveyor? If so who?

2. Is anyone going to inspect them themselves?

3. Has anyone else rented their apartments out yet?

4. Any pointers for long term lets?

I would appreciate any other advice at this time also.

It is not your call to inspect the flats at the handover. The building owner is called for snagging by Nakheel . But you are save as you have a whole one year to get thing done in your apartment free of cost. Renting is no problem in the area demand is high Studio is renting for AED36K to 40K per year and 1 bed are going for 48K to 52K depending on the floor and the location.

i heard the building owner is required to do things before they can start handing over
might be electricity /water connections
all i know no DATE this time can take months

I really need some advice - I put a deposit on a morroco apartment in Dec 2005, with a UK based Agent and have paid all funds over by Dec 2006 including services charges.

I was promised a contract from Nakheel by the agent and completion and handover by this date. It is now mid march and I am very worried that I may have lost money on this whole thing!

I have contacted the agent several times, but they tell me they do not know what is happening and I must just wait as they have no further information to pass to me.

Have others experienced this sort of thing with their apartments?? I would like to name the agent as this may help me and others who are dealing with the agent to decide on the next course of action in lack of further information!

Can i name the agent on this site? They seemed to be reputable, being established internationally, having a website and doing sales presentations in a london hotel. - however i am not impressed!!

Well I am sorry to know that you guys are enduring the slow grinding from Nakheel and agents as well. Basically I have been through it as well and it seems that it is just their way of working SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!!

I can assure you that the contracts will be delivered by Nakheel and the agents will get the info of collecting them on your behalf when it is ready. So dont panic is my advice.
