Default Beware Spanish developers in Morocco, and why I won't be investing in Tanjah.

The people behind the resort are GILMAR MAROC SEASIDE RESORTS SARL. Dreamworld is just an agent.

GILMAR MAROC SEASIDE RESORTS SARL were formed by associates of the late Jesus Gill, the disgraced and totally corrupt former mayor of Marbella.

My worry with this resort is that the developer is heavily implicated in the current corruption investigations on-going in Marbella. There is a real possibility that they, as a company and as directors, could be charged with issues relating to Operation Malaya or the White Whale corruption investigations. Many developers (79 companies in total) have already been arrested and charged.

Part of the process in Spain is to instantly freeze the bank accounts of companies implicated, so your money could be held by the Spanish authorities until their investigations are complete. You would then loose your money and the development would not be built. I would warn anyone from getting involved with any Spanish developers in Morocco as there is a 50/5o chance that the company will be implicated. I have heard (purely local gossip) that some of the directors are in Israel and won't return to Spain for fear of arrest.

Arrests are still on-going and more will surely follow. Invest with these companies at your peril. The shares of the major Spanish developers have taken a massive drop on the Spanish Stock exchange as investors there realise the possible liabilities.

Don't be the last to know.

There's lots of information on this from reputable sources on the internet. A quick Google search will confirm all the above if you doubt it.

Exclamation Just an example

David Stubbs, RICS senior economist said: "The growing troubles of the Spanish housing market provide a timely reminder that investments in foreign property carry significant risk. Just because house prices seem low in relation to the UK does not necessarily mean that they represent a good investment. Indeed, markets which have been fuelled by significant foreign demand, and have encouraged housebuilding levels that threaten to generate a glut of homes for sale on the market, should be of particular concern to Brits considering their investment options."

Stick to non-Spanish developers!

Thank you for that, as we all know Addoha are a very solid company within Morocco, the way things are in Spain at the moment I would imagine that every developer gets linked with corruption.

I am still optimistic that this will be a fantastic development and hope to see some movement on it soon.

Don't try to hid the facts, Jesus. (The name says it all!) Why was the controlling stake relinquished? Because they wanted to give all the profits to someone else? I very much doubt it!

I'm not slagging the project, just corrupt Spanish developers.

All I'm saying is be very, very careful and get a good lawyer and demand a bank guarantee.

And by the way, Manor Park, "fantastic development"?! , movement soon! Language of an agent?

Mick

I can assure you 100% that I am not an agent, if you look through other posts both on this site and others where I always use the same name, that I am just looking for some investment in a couple of properties for the future.

This was my first purchase and I have visited the site, met people from addoha, dreamworld, philip morris (the solicitor) and feel that if it all goes well, (and I am aware it could go tits up,) that it will be a "fantastic development" not because I am trying to sell property, but because that is why I have put my own money down and bought there.

I have asked that if you have information that you feel we should be aware of, then post it or PM it, neither you have done so far, so I will continue to take your posts as I have done so far, as idle over the fence gossip.

(LOL), it's easy to push your buttons dude!

On Tanjah there are full guarantees in place for monies paid over and the contract is of type VEFA, it doesn't come much better than that.

Manor, don't start explaining your self to Marbella mick, he's got is own agenda, the building licence will be in shortly and that will silence everyone who wants Tanjah to fail.

To be fair the reply was to anyone else that might read MM's posts, and believe it. I have nothing to hide and come on these sites to share information with like minded individuals.

I am still waiting for my PM, you?
