I bought a 2 bed GF unit at PBGR. I want to do a minor change in the distribution of the apartment. Just to knock down the wall between the kitchen and the dinning room.
I have contacted the personnel of prestige properties but they told that modifications are only possible once the documents have been signed at the notary, meaning in 2 years time when the works are finished.

Is this correct?

Of course it's correct.

Can I put a deposit down to buy your house, with the 'intention' of paying you the rest in 2 years as long as I dont die or change my mind in the meantime, but I want to come and make drastic alterations before I pay you the balance - is that ok?

Nope, didn't think so

Investy,

In Spain and some other European countries where I had acquired a property, minor modifications (not drastic) are absolutely normal.
That is why I put the question to the blog.
May be your experience in buy properties abroad is much more limited than mine and therefore you answered nonsense.
Please if you have nothing intelligent to add, do not make silly comments. Just enjoy and learn.

Don't pay any attention to Investy dominfe, he's come out with all sorts of rubbish in the past on this forum and others where he goes by the names of dogbox and thorr. There are many developers who will make modifications as you say. The only problem I see in trying to do it yourself after completion is that you may not be allowed. Each block on Paradise accommodates four apartments, any change you want to make may be seen as compromising the structure of the shared building, therefore you might not be allowed to make alterations.

I was able to make minor alterations to my property at Marina Smir, which included having a pair of doors where a window was. To do it afterwards would have been a nightmare.

I guess at the end of the day it is probably down to the goodwill of the Developer more than anything else.
