New Zealand Property

As a mortgage broker I am seeing more and more offshore clients wanting to purchase NZ Investment Property and Holiday Homes.

I think the big attraction is the lack of any capital gain tax plus the continue appreciation of such properties. In my location last year property values increased by over 13 %, it was 23% the year before.

I work in close proximity to a company that specialises in finding Investment Property throughout New Zealand and they seem to turn it over rapidly and it is all kinds, private sellers, developers and real estate agent supplied property.

With the average yield at 5.5% then I can only presume they are investing on the back of free capial growth and a stable performance.
