Luxembourg plans to provide Cape Verde with 13 million euros in 2008, as part of the indicative Cooperation Program for 2006-2010, estimated at 45 million euros, according to a statement signed Tuesday in Praia.

The priority sectors for cooperation between Luxembourg and Cape Verde are education/training of human resources, health, water and sanitation, and projects are focused on the islands of Santo Antao, Sao Vicente, Santiago and Sao Nicolau.

Luxembourg has already funded, amongst other projects in Cape Verde, on Santiago island, the Technical School, Regional Hospital in Santa Catarina and the High School and Health Center on S. Miguel.

Cape Verde and Luxembourg have a privileged cooperation relationship. Within this framework, during the last Partnership Commission, held in October 2005 in Luxembourg, the 2nd Indicative Cooperation Program for 2006-2010 was signed.
