Default Gambia

Hi,
Went to The Gambia last month and was impressed by the amount of building going on - literally everywhere. Infrastructure is still pretty basic but rapidly improving so I was informed. Six hours flight was tedious but the weather was constant 30-35 and beaches glorious. English the official language and am thinking about investing out there but puzzled by lack of publicity.
Any thoughts anyone???

Hi, we are building in Gambia ~ have been holidaying there for the last 10 years. Beautiful country, beautiful people. If you are thinking of investing in the country, the best investment would be to buy land and build your own property but you need to be careful who you deal with as there are the 'rip off merchants' ~ no different to anywhere else in the world really. The best thing to do is have a few more holidays, talk to lots of people out there (preferably ex-pats who live there), and ensure you have a reliable Gambian friend who can guide you through the beurocracy. If you do decide to buy land then ensure you do it legally through a solicitor and remember, GMT, Gambian Maybe Time ~ everything runs very slowly in the Gambia.

Good luck
