An Irish man here looking for some help and advice. With the dollar being so weak and the property taxes soon to change. Is New York a good place to buy? If not any good hot spots? I have been trying to stay away from Florida as it seems saturated and am looking for a rental income. Also would be interested to know how i achieve mortgage etc

New York is always a god place to buy. Rental market in New York is strong, I suggest if buying a large apartment to rent out on a long term basis to companies out there such as Avon, NYSE etc...

Florida will always be great as an investment even though you stated your
trying to stay away from it, esp Orlando high rental returns.

How about Brazil? Natal is very popular with investors.

The prices in Manhattan are continually going up. Other areas have settled down and some have even depreciated over the last year. You are really looking at long term renters in NY as opposed to doing a short term / vacation rental in Florida. I would weigh the pros and cons of each. If you were to invest in the Orlando market I would look at properties that are close to Disney with full featured amenities. The closer to the parks the better. The second option would be to look at the new properties on international drive near the convention center.
