I don't know what the future will bring based on the most recent financial issues, but real estate in Nova Scotia is a steal compared to the rest of Canada.

Long term it is a very good investment. The prices are expected to fall or rather adjust slightly but if you hold on to the property it will pay off.
Right now there seem to be no stopping new development in the greater Vancouver area and prices are holding steady.

I myself live in Vancouver and have just cashsed out on most of my investments, and am looking to take my money elsewhere.

there was a huge boom here in Vancouver over the last 5 years...prices skyrocketed. everyone was waiting for that bubble to burst, but its still going strong....slightly slowed down.
however the prices here have gotten quite high, and i think theres more potential to make money elsewhere (like the USA). although Toronto is still reasonably priced

Hello to all!
Yes Canada is the best choice when you consider all things, quality of life, level of education, massive immigration bases on high level of education. I have a business immigration company in Montreal ( as other have said) one of the best places to invest in real estate at the moment , still some properties to be renovated and leased furnished 10to12%return and an extra return as the canadian $ can only rise, i have people doing just that. I help business investors immigrate to Canada, only 18 months to receive the Permanent Residency Visa .A net worth of 800,000$can is required, and 3 years of business experience for the main applicant Business Immigration to Canada VIP business immigration for investors
in Google VIP business immigration

Right now Mont Tremblant is witnessing a massive surge of foreign buyers, especially from the UK and Europe because of Montreal's European style and culture.

I work with a developer called Resort Capital Group that enjoys great alignments with prominent individuals like Will Smith, Dan Marino, Donovan Bailey and others for our gated waterfront residential communities in Mont Tremblant. We currently have 3 projects for which we have secured the majority of funds, pre-construction investment portfolios range from $900,000- $10 million with a guarantee of 15-25% returns (depending on theproject) within 2 years and plots of land (title to the land) as collateral in the mean time.

Strong points of investing in Mont Tremblant:

Intrawest to invest $2 billion for Phase 3 Versant Soleil
International airport
Large casino to be completed
Expected increase of over 1 million visitors in next 2 years
World class amenities including gold courses, tennis, horse rising, ski moutain
Stunning lake front properties
Security and accesibility

thanks!

PS - /canada has some of the most stunning natural views and resources, especially in the mountains, Whistler is a very good example of this.

for the last few years the UK press has been full of adverts for property in the Mont Tremblant area, all offering 4 season rental returns, capital growth etc. How come these are being marketed in over here ?. If they are so good why aren't they being snapped up by N.American buyers ?. Rhetorical question; same reason property in Ox & N.Z. is being heavily pushed over here - the locals think it's over priced.

I will now sit back and await the howls of outrage - but I have every faith in my Australian friend of 30 years who is a real estate agent.

Enjoy! Mont Tremblant is a great place to take your mind off things and enjoy the most beautiful natural settings, blues festival, film festival, skiing, rafting and more.
