Vlora is a fantastic holiday hotspot on the Adriatic. Currently 3 hours drive from Tirana, but when the new highway is completed approx end 2008, this will reduce travel time to approx 1hr 45min.

With a population of approx 124,000 (which doubles in Summer!), Vlora is a colourful seaside city close to various sandy and rocky beaches and the scenic nearby mountains. The city is Albania's second largest port, having regular ferry boat connections with Italian ports of Bari and Brindisi. There is also currently a bi-weekly ferry service to Corfu.

Tourism in Vlore has been booming. It is a great place to swim and relax, to have a coffee and admire the breath-taking view over the Bay of Vlorë. Or get your walking shoes on and drive ½ hour south to the amazing Llogora Pass National Forest up in the mountains.
