Smile Good Site- How can we get member numbers up

Hi the best forums and blog sites are where the volume is high, how can you increase the activity here?

Ban all the advertising and leave the forum open for advice and comment. No offence to you GG, or anybody in particular (well, one or two in particular), but the bad agents are giving everybody else a bad name and driving anyone looking for, or willing to give, genuine advice away from the site

As a regular property investor, I find the advertising on the site most useful as it gives me an opportunity to talk to a number of agents in one go and lets face it most agents that use the site are knowledgeable in their chosen investment areas. AndyK2...which agents are you referring to when you say they are bad? Let us all know your opinion.....afterall that is what the forum is for? Are you an agent yourself?

Sure, I´m an agent, and have no complaint about agents talking to each other and giving/sharing advice to anybody looking for it - but blatant mis.information and "block" advertising (like on multiple threads) is unnecessary. For example (of block advertising) look at the Egypt Forum - it´s pointless contributing there. All about Sahl Hasheesh with nothing about Pyramisa or Serenia. Where´s the balance? Property prices in Tanjah have been "due to rise" 25% since last August, and they still haven´t drained the swamp (it was raining there yesterday, so now it will be a feature lake). It goes on, and on and takes away the pleasure of being involved in a community.

Good point about no balance, but surely that is what an agent does isnt it? Puts details about their best investments on the relevant forums to attract investors to their websites etc. It is just business at the end of the day. The egypt forum is a bit Sahl focussed but is that not one of the best investments on the red sea at the moment?

Probably a better investment if you got involved before the last price hike. Appreciate what your saying about agents having the right to advertise what they consider to be a good investment, but "all things in moderation", please!

Interesting comments guys. I think the forums are a good networking platform. Agents will be drawn in, if they can contribute honestly and with diligence I think it helps. eg. on tax or financial issues. The truth is each user comes to the forum for what they can get out of it. If you are an investor, you want to get sound or at least some feedback, but agents want clients. The benefit of the forum it is a debate and that questions can be asked openly and with some insight, instead of a sales pitch. I quite like them, they ar pretty relaxed and as long as you make a point and it creates debate.

most people have questions. lets get them aired. Ok some thing s are not perfect, eg. Egypt forum, but are there any Egyptians who speak English that wish to contribute, what is in it for them. Maybe we can get the tourist board to talk.

Realty we are all in it for what is in it for us. Unleess there are some angels around...
