Alot of the time this term is bandied around in international property buying and selling circles.

Independent Lawyer. buy through an independent lawyer. Are the lawyers independent if recommend via the agent or developer.

My answer would be a resounding no. But unfortunately probably 90% of all transactions are done this way. So when further down the line there is problems, it is the client that suffers.

On occasions like some big real estate companies actually get part of the lawyers fee as well!!!! How lacking in ethics is this! How impartial is this. I will disclose certain companies in Private Messages for reasons of law and to avoid to be sued. So be in touch.

And remember INDEPENDENT LAWYER IS INDEPENDENT OF ALL US PROFESSIONAL SERVICE PROVIDERS. IT HAS NO INTEREST OTHER THAN YOU, THE PAYING CLIENT. NO SUB AGENDAS. IT IS TIME FOR INTERNATIONAL REAL ESTATE TO CLEAN UP ITS ACT AND TO WORK IN THE SERVICE OF CLIENTS NOT FAT UNSCRUPOLOUS DEVELOPERS AND AGENTS.
