Default How is the official procedure in Spain?

I am looking at the possibility of moving from Portugal, where
bureaucracy is a mad disease. I am interested to know what living in Spain is like. For example:

What steps, and how much time, are needed to import a used car into Spain and register it? Does the registration need to be renewed each year? Cost?

What steps are needed to get a driver's license,? what is the duration of
the license, and is a driving test needed at each renewal. I did Internet searches and found nothing useful.
Other bureaucracies?

I am also interested to know about life in the different areas of Spain, especially east of Barcelona to the French border, not too far from the coast, and in the west Andalucia area - possibly Cadiz or Huelva.

Thanks
julio

If you look at the top of the Spanish forum you will see "Cars To Spain" this gives you an idea of how to get your car here to Spain. If your car is older than six months you don?t have to pay import duty, as Spain is part of the EU.

To exchange your Driving License, it will cost around 17:50 euros you need to fill in three forms (provided by the Traffico Office), and take two passport photos, photocopies of, 1 your driving license, the driving license its self, 2, A statement saying that that is the only valid driving license that you have (provided by Traffico), and a SAE, to the traffico office.

The Spanish driving license is valid for five years, if over 40 years old you also need a medical certified cost around 40 euros.

Like any other country Spain has is bureaucracy, and in most terms you have to abide by it, to live a peaceful life here, As for the other areas that you mention I am sure that there is a lot of members on these forums that can offer advice and assistance to you.
Thanks
