But to many Morocco is just a too risky location
Whilst in the past Spain has had it's share of 'legal property' problems that is now changing and as it is a major player in EU...and a major investor in UK [ Abbey & BAA etc] it is just a safe haven for an EU investment outside peoples home country
The so called ' emerging markets' which includes Morocco have still to ' explode'!!!
And long term if you buy right the returns are good
Also the cheap flights will always go to Spain all year
With a flat maket even for the good locations, great time to buy
And EU culture is much easier to handle for most 'Life Style Buyers'

The rental yield for my safe Morocco Government backed mega resorts should be about 10%.
P W rent yields are about 2 - 3% when I checked recently - thats not an investment worthy of the name. You'd get 5% from a Bank account ffs!

there does not seem to be any new resorts that don't boast 2/3 golf courses
Yep, but at least they can't build on them and ruin your view!!!

Its not just the view that makes golf Resorts popular , it is hard to beat for anyone wanting a holiday home which is sure to turn out as a good investment in the long term
The days of making a quick buck have gone for some time in all world wide markets and in the so called ' emerging markets' the problems as credit is restricted to builders are just about to explode!
So in times like this it is best to play safe- so the established markets in the EU are best
UK holiday homes are expensive, even caravans in good locations can cost
up to £1/2 M !!!......so Spain and Polaris World is a good choice
OK the resorts are big with lots of units but over the next decade after this current credit crunch is long forgotten, the demand for that Life Style home in the sun wil just go on increasing.....and Spain will more and more satisfy that demand
So if you are an owner now do not worry and if you want to buy 2008 may just prove to be the best year to get a good deal

Spain is the UK's favourite destination and Polaris world has done an amazing job of selling the dream to middle England. I wouldn't invest in the property myself as I don't see it as a good investment but I would for a place for my wife and I to visit and enjoy the school holidays.

I would also recommend Dream Coast Homes

Rowland yopu repeatedly state PW is a good investment, but how can this be when owners are repoting the rent only just covers the ongoing costs?

Also I note your reticance over emmerging markets. If we all had this attitude nothing would ever change, we'd all still be living in caves (oh dont mess about with new fangled mud hits, stick to caves - play safe).
Spain was a new and exotic place where no one bought a holiday home 30 years ago.

To follow your logic a version of you in 1978 would have said "play it safe stick with UK holiday homes, dont take the risk of emmerging Spain, afterall you cant even drnk the water".

PW in my book is a very very poor investment. The fact something is relativey safe does not make it a good investment. Buying premium bonds is very safe...

suppose at least polaris at this point isnt looking at being bulldosed! Time now to look for bargins and polaris wont tick the investors box for returns but a semi retired couple or young families are polaris target and hence why they shift products.

Agree but just now there are some great Ready Now deals for all types of properties on the established developments which means you get all the facilities straight away
With the standard of the developments of Polaris World they must be a very good long term investment....when all the Golf Trail courses are open owning a Polaris World unit will give access to the best golf in Europe and perhaps anywhere else
This will be good for for letting if you market it right and all from a 2 bed maisonette from circa £94,000 at Condado de Alhama and if you pay your deposit now by the time you complete the £ will be back to a bit more normal rate and it will be cheaper
Just have a look at the Show maisonette......and you will see just what good value it is.......many caravans cost more and the site fees are' much more'

Whilst I am not knocking Polaris world, I was recently offered 40 2 bed fully furnished apartments in Murcia 10 minutes walk from 3 golf courses for 25,000 euros. So shop around as there are bargains to be had.
