Default Mortgages

Worth a try then but our people were told by HSBC in Turkey that it was nationals only hence us sourcing others - but - if they do it great.

I have an account with HSBC in the UK just wondering if I can use this to get a small mortgage in Turkey, or do I need to move the account?

Hi Paul

Its worth asking but as I said to start with as I understand it HSBC in Turkey are only interested in Nationals or people working there - maybe TH4S can add to this but that's what we came up against. And I think HSBC in the UK will only be interested in you raising finance on property here to buy there. Anyway the best thing to do is ask and see where you get. Like I said to start with we deal with brokers here who do it - terms are similar to buy to let mortgages here.

Hope you get sorted out.

Brian

Aquila,
We offer mortgages to our customers via an independent financial adviser in the UK (we're a Turkish estate agency). They can arrange mortgages for working UK residents (payslips required) from a bank in Gibraltar. The system works but our IFA is a bit slow......what's your time frame? How much do you charge the customer?...a few more details would be appreciated as we would consider moving to another IFA if we can find a better service. You can post here or mail me privately.
Thanks.
