Hi, I think you have the wrong idea about Fethiye. My doughter goes to private school in Fethiye and she has English teachers. I think there are some more openings too. I work for a real estate company.. I can find what you are looking for. Life here is much better, safer and cheaper than Istanbul. This place lives 12 mothns not just seasonal. Good luck with your decision

Default Buing in Turkey

The mortgage period has been extended recently to 20 years, and you can borrow up to 75% of declared market value on new build only. No-one is geared up to off-plan mortgages yet, so be wary of anyone who says they can obtain one. They are not cheap either!!

Nelson,
Buying in Izmir would be a very good option for you. It is the third largest city in the country. Life is much easier and cheaper than Istanbul, and it is a very modern city. If you want to live in a city for 12 months, Izmir is a good choice for you. Cesme which is a very famous holiday destination for its clean sea and nightlife is only half an hour away from the Izmir city centre.

Default Mortgages

Mortgages are now freely available and the lending term has just been extended from 15 to 20 years. Unfortunately, they are not available outside the UK. We have been told by the Turkish British Chamber of Commerce and Industry that moves are underway for a reciprocal health agreement between Turkey and the UK.

Nelson,
We are an estate agent in Gumbet Bodrum and we can help you with information about buying property here. At present Bodrum has now become a very cosmopolitan area with many language schools and private schools. There is a very good network of ex-pat residence here who built up a community.
You can buy a property in Turkey as long as you are a Turkish citizen.
