Question Short-term rental in England

Hi
My husband and I are considering a 6-month stay in the UK. I need to find a small house, preferably in a rural setting or small town, with internet and an elementary school nearby (we have an 11-year-old). I'm considering a winter/spring time period. But I am having a hard time even figuring out where to look for such a house. Does anyone have any advice for me? Also-if we find a place that is not wired for internet, can you get satellite internet? Thanks for any info anyone could supply!!!!
Michele

Michele - You could try Gumtree or www Free-House-Agent com, both are good. The latter allows you to search for the property you want, by entering postcode or place name and also gives you links to local information about the area, such as schools, hospitals etc. Most places in the UK have wireless internet access, don't think you will have much problem on that front, WAP is also an option.
