I would never have believed it, but I'm moving back to the UK after spending 5 1/2 glorious, trying, imaginative, enriching years in France!!!!

Does anyone know how I stand with my driving license? I passed it in France a year ago and I wondered if I can drive with it legally in the UK? I don't see why not and I am driving back tomorrow anyway.

Just suddenly got cold feet and thought I better check it out. I noticed that a lot of UK insurance companies ask if you hold a full UK license - does that mean if you have a foreign license you need to pay more??? I really hope not, as my financial situation is catastrophic due to 9 months unemployment (this is the reason I am moving back to the UK)!

Has anyone else moved back recently? I really don't know what to expect and am feeling nervous!

Anyway, wish me luck, and if anyone can help re. the driving license I would be really grateful.

As far as I am aware because France is part of the European Community you should be able to just exchange it for a British License.
