Default Hull

Hi

I friend of mine has approached me on purchasing apartments in the city of Hull, 1 beds 500 sqft for 130K. He is sending on info in the next few days. Has anyone any information on good and bad areas of Hull ?. What is the average price for apartments in the city of Hull ?. Is there good rental demand ?. Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hull is to be transformed into a northern super city. According to Sir Norman Foster anyway. It has won the equivalent of the regeneration lottery.
The Avenues (the streets around the University) offer traditional stock with rising values. However, be warned, some streets are good and some are bad. Only someone with local knowledge knows the difference.
Hull has very low rents - about £40 per person per week. So you need to work out the maths v carefully and beware of agents promising rental returns better suited to cities like York or Leeds.
There have been some very pokey new developments there of late. It would be hard to swing a cat in some new build (not that one should do such a thing of course. Not a pleasant image.) Believe it or not, I often get a magnifying glass out to look at floorplans.

Can you tell me which development it is you're considering and who the developer is?

Hi Michele.

Thank you for your reply. All I know is the development is near the Radisson Hotel. I will have to find out more over the weekend.

Regards

Derry
